We used Josh recently to install our new boiler. We found him to be professional, courteous and reliable. The service provided was in line with our expectations and if we had any issues they were fixed promptly. The work was done in a timely way, there was no mess and the rubbish was removed. The paperwork was clear and explained the process for setting up the boiler and ongoing maintenance. We are happy to recommend him to anyone looking for a Gas registered service in Southampton.
FAQ
Common Air Conditioning Questions
For a small room, a decent portable air conditioning unit can provide a lot of comfort for a few hundred pounds.
However, they are more expensive to run, less effective and generally not as good as a proper min-split system.
Some portable models like the recent models from Midea also have an outdoor condenser, but the price of those is not much less than a full professional mini-split A/C system install.
Avoid the cheap units that have no pipe to the outdoors and require topping up with ice water.
Installing a standard split domestic aircon system usually falls under ‘permitted development’, meaning you do not need to apply for planning permission.
If you are in a flat, maisonette, a listed building or a conservation area, the use of outdoor condenser units may mean you may require consent for the freehold owner.
Whilst it is generally allowed, it is usually not the first choice when choosing your condenser location.
Some locations may have rules about property aesthetics and conservation areas may also place restrictions on location.
The standard recommendation is every 12 months. This allows items like filters, pipework and moisture traps to be checked for correct functioning.
If you have a particularly dusty environment, for instance if you have had building work carried out, it may be worth getting a 6-monhtly service instead.
We recommend getting your service in the early spring, before the cooling is in constant use.
We can source most brands of air conditioning if you have your heart set on a particular manufacturer.
However we recommend Worcester Bosch and Mitsubishi Electric, as we are fully accredited installers for both brands.
